Did you know that this year it’s state law that nonprofits have a formal 990 review policy? We know that nonprofit laws are always changing. It can be really difficult to keep up with all the changes, especially when volunteering your time on a Board.
United Way is partnering with the Small Business Center at DCCC and HandsOn NWNC to offer an upcoming training session on Board Governance.
This session was held in the fall and we’ve had so many request for Karl to come to do one-on-one presentations with various nonprofit Boards we wanted to offer this session again. Please share this information with anyone that is new to your Board or that you think might benefit. Anyone that attended the session last time can attest to how much they learned by coming to this session. Based on your feedback we also extended the time.
Nonprofit Executive Directors and board members will benefit from this structured training session for boards. After receiving handouts, the attendees will get instruction on legal, fiduciary and other board responsibilities. Learn how to be more effective. Learn what accountability board members and the organization should know about. Due to extensive materials available at this workshop, there is a fee. Contact Brittany Pruitt at (336) 249-2532 to pay in $15 advance or $20 at the door. Checks can be made payable to United Way of Davidson County
