As an organization, our goals are to increase the number of members and keep our current members satisfied. To achieve this, we will promote our Chamber Checks program and encourage more people to participate in the Lexington Leaders program. We believe that participating in Chamber events is an excellent way for members to network and develop their businesses, so we will continue to promote these benefits. Additionally, we are always exploring new programs that can provide added value to our members, and we offer seminars to help members address any specific business challenges they may be facing.
Membership Benefits ->
As part of our commitment to our Chamber members, we keep a close eye on legislative issues at both the state and federal level. We also represent our members’ interests at City Council and County Commissioner meetings. Additionally, we monitor the progress of road projects in the Lexington area, and host events like the State of Our Community and Legislative Breakfast to keep our members informed about economic development opportunities and legislative updates. We work hard to encourage elected officials to support local businesses and even facilitate candidate forums during election years.
Our goals are to support and promote public school education, encourage community involvement in volunteer opportunities within Lexington/Davidson County, host the New Teacher Reception in partnership with local chambers to help retain teachers, administer the Leadership Davidson County program, and support the Yadkin Valley Career Academy.
We aim to improve the user experience of the Chamber website by adding more videos and pictures from events throughout the year. We will also explore revenue-generating opportunities presented through Chamber Master and Membership Directory. Our goal is to promote the distribution of Portraits of Davidson County Magazine. Additionally, we plan to conduct social media workshops and enhance the use of social media to promote Chamber events.
Our initiatives include, partnering with local government to support the “Buy Local” campaign, advocating for workforce and site development in Davidson County to promote job creation and industrial growth through the Economic Development Commission’s efforts, and supporting the passenger rail and “Depot District” Redevelopment projects in uptown Lexington. We also aim to develop a proactive strategy for retail and commercial development and sponsor educational events for small business owners and merchants.
We work with our Chamber partners to organize educational events that are beneficial to our members who are either manufacturers or suppliers to manufacturers. These events aim to showcase local industry and provide best practices that can help them become more efficient and competitive, while also fostering a better workplace environment. We hold these events bimonthly throughout the year and have had over 60 successful events to date. We also collaborate with local Community Colleges and school systems to offer free access to 3 students from each system to our events. Our efforts have expanded from serving only Davidson County to now serving six additional counties in the region.
